About the Role
Our client, a premier hospitality and leisure group, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Remote Golf Course Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of high-profile golf facilities. This is a fully remote position, requiring strong organizational skills and the ability to manage operations from a distance, with occasional travel for site visits. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of golf course management, including agronomy, turfgrass maintenance, club operations, guest services, and staff management. You will be responsible for ensuring that each golf course operates efficiently, maintains exceptional playing conditions, and provides an unparalleled experience for members and guests.
Key responsibilities include:
Directing and coordinating all golf course operations, including groundskeeping, maintenance, player services, and F&B outlets (if applicable). Developing and implementing strategic operational plans to enhance course quality, playability, and overall member/guest satisfaction. Overseeing the agronomic programs, ensuring optimal turf health and playing surfaces throughout the seasons. Managing budgets, controlling costs, and identifying opportunities for revenue enhancement. Recruiting, training, motivating, and evaluating the performance of golf course staff. Implementing and enforcing club policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Liaising with club management, committees, and members to address concerns and foster positive relationships. Managing relationships with vendors and suppliers for equipment, supplies, and services. Developing and executing marketing and promotional strategies to attract and retain golfers. Monitoring industry trends and best practices in golf course management to drive continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Golf Course Management, Horticulture, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in golf course management is required, with demonstrated success in overseeing complex operations. Certification from a recognized turfgrass management association (e.g., GCSAA) is highly desirable. Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities are essential. Excellent financial acumen, budgeting, and cost-control skills are necessary. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively manage remote teams and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. The ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote setting is critical. Experience with golf course management software and technology is preferred.
