About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced and dynamic Head Golf Professional to manage all golf operations at their prestigious club in **San Jose, California, US**. This leadership role is crucial for delivering an exceptional golf experience to members and guests, encompassing instruction, tournament management, retail operations, and course management liaison. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of golf, strong customer service skills, and a proven ability to manage staff and resources effectively. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance member engagement, attract new golfers, and drive revenue through various golf-related activities. Key duties include providing high-quality golf instruction for players of all skill levels, organizing and running successful golf tournaments and events, managing the pro shop inventory and merchandising, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere on the course. Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of golf operations, including instruction, tournaments, and pro shop management. Provide expert golf instruction and coaching to members and guests of all skill levels. Plan, organize, and execute a variety of golf tournaments, events, and clinics. Manage the golf shop, including inventory control, merchandising, and sales. Develop and implement strategies to increase rounds played and golf-related revenue. Manage and train golf operations staff, including outside services and pro shop personnel. Ensure a high level of customer service and member satisfaction. Liaise with course maintenance staff to ensure optimal playing conditions. Promote a positive and engaging golf environment. Maintain knowledge of current golf trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
PGA Professional certification or equivalent is highly preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in golf operations management. Proven experience in golf instruction, tournament organization, and retail management. Excellent customer service, communication, and leadership skills. Strong understanding of golf course operations and etiquette. Proficiency in golf management software (e.g., Jonas, Clubessential). Demonstrated ability to drive revenue and manage budgets. Passion for the game of golf and commitment to promoting its growth.
