About the Role
Our client, a premier golf resort nestled near Austin, Texas, US , is seeking an accomplished and charismatic Head Golf Professional to lead their golf operations. This is a fully remote-friendly position, allowing you to manage golf services and member experiences from anywhere. The Head Golf Professional will be responsible for all facets of the golf experience, including merchandising, instruction, tournament operations, and course management collaboration. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of golf, and a proven ability to enhance member satisfaction and drive ancillary revenue streams. You will be the face of our golf club, ensuring a world-class experience for all players, from beginners to seasoned professionals.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all day-to-day golf operations, including the pro shop, club storage, practice facilities, and member services. Develop and implement a comprehensive golf program, including lessons, clinics, leagues, and social events. Manage golf merchandise inventory, including purchasing, sales, and visual merchandising, to maximize profitability. Conduct individual and group golf lessons for members and guests of all skill levels. Organize and execute club tournaments, member events, and outside golf outings. Maintain strong relationships with members, providing personalized service and anticipating their needs. Collaborate with course superintendents and management to ensure optimal course conditions and playability. Manage and train golf operations staff, fostering a positive and professional team environment. Implement and manage golf systems, including tee-time booking, billing, and player tracking. Promote the club's golf offerings and recruit new members.
Qualifications:
PGA or LPGA Professional certification is required. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Head Golf Professional or Senior Assistant Golf Professional. Proven experience in golf instruction, tournament management, and pro shop operations. Exceptional customer service, communication, and leadership skills. Strong merchandising and inventory management abilities. Proficiency in golf operations software (e.g., Jonas, Golf Genius, Clubessential). A passion for the game of golf and a commitment to enhancing the member experience. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Experience developing and executing strategic plans for golf operations. A positive attitude and a professional demeanor.
