Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Golf Course Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will support the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of golf course equipment and machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your mechanical skills in a dynamic outdoor environment.
Duties
Assist with routine inspections and preventative maintenance on golf course equipment, including mowers, utility vehicles, and turf machinery
Support repairs on engines, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and mechanical parts using hand tools and power tools
Assist with diagnosing issues using schematics and electrical diagnostics to identify faults accurately
Perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely during equipment repairs or replacements
Aid in welding, soldering, or generator repair tasks as needed to restore equipment functionality
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used
Support the team during equipment upgrades or replacements involving mechanical systems repair
Skills
Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive or equipment repair
Familiarity with schematics, electrical diagnostics, diesel engine repair, and heavy machinery systems
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and generator repair
Knowledge of Caterpillar or similar heavy equipment brands is a plus
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently
