Food & Beverage / Banquet Manager
Department: Food & Beverage
Reports to: Food & Beverage Director
Direct Reports: Assists in managing front line service staff for restaurant and banquet activities.
Position Type: Full-time, Non-Seasonal, Salaried, Exempt
Location: Palm Desert, California
Position Summary
Supports the daily operations of the Food & Beverage Department, including restaurant, bar, banquet, catering, convention, and beverage cart operations, in coordination with the Food & Beverage leadership team and other front-of-house managers. Provides leadership, training, and support to front-of-house staff to help deliver exceptional guest experiences while maintaining operational excellence, financial performance, and Company standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan staffing schedules for restaurant, banquet, and special events to ensure outstanding guest service while controlling labor costs.
Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) daily to coordinate staffing, room setups, equipment, décor, and service execution.
Ensure all restaurant, banquet, catering, bar, patio, snack bar, beverage cart, and storage areas meet Company sanitation, safety, and presentation standards.
Assist with food and beverage purchasing, receiving, inventory, cost controls, and POS reporting while maintaining quality and profitability.
Ensure all events and daily operations are executed on time and according to Company service standards.
Assist with promotional programs, and event planning to enhance guest satisfaction and revenue.
Assist to recruit, hire, train, schedule, coach, evaluate, and develop team members while promoting accountability and resolving associate concerns.
Conduct department meetings, pre-shift lineups, and ongoing training programs.
Ensure compliance with all Company policies, food safety regulations, alcohol service requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Prepare operational, financial, inventory, payroll, and budget reports as required.
Maintain a positive, professional work environment while creating memorable guest experiences.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Qualifications/Certifications
High school, college degree, required or preferred.
5 years applicable functional, supervisory and/or management experience, preferably in the golf industry.
Demonstrated experience and capability in the areas of budget development, fiscal management, strategic planning, staff management.
Demonstrated quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends.
Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
