Westchester Hills Golf Club is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant\nDirector of Food & Beverage to join our leadership team. This is an exciting\nopportunity to be part of a premier private club known for exceptional service,\nhigh‑quality dining experiences, and a strong sense of community.\n\nGeneral Purpose:\nAssists in directing and overseeing all food and beverage facets including, but\nnot limited to: high level communication, operations, member and guest\nsatisfaction, service training, personnel, product mix data, ordering,\nvendor relationships, service leadership, inventory, labor and cost of goods\ncontrols, and catering functions.
Responsibilities
Develops schedules for all food and beverage departments, according to budget and forecastManages and assists in the ordering of all alcohol beverages, maintains beverage pour cost, implements recipes and retail pricing of productWorks closely with the kitchen leadership to ensure food quality and consistency, and appropriate ticket times, labor and cost of salesAssists in the completion of all month end inventories to include the kitchen, bars, and beverage cartAssists the Director, Food and Beverage with budget development and cost analysisAssists in the marketing of the restaurant and catering departments, both internal and externalAssists in the managing other managers, front line associates, in all food and beverage outletsManages service standards for all food and beverage outletsPromotes and implements all Troon food and beverage standards, procedures and policiesAssists and leads interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, communicates opportunities, praise, progressive performance documentations of all food and beverage associates; addressing complaints and resolving issuesManages department members that may include, but is not limited to: Restaurant Manager, Catering Manager, Executive Chef, Host, Set Up Staff, Cooks, Servers, Bussers, Food Runners, and any other food and beverage associatesAssures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs and tests for comprehensionMonitors business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of labor, productivity, costs and other expensesIncorporates safe work practices in job performanceRegular and reliable attendancePerforms other duties as requiredRequirements
Field related education or one or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceFood Safety and Applicable Sanitation TrainingAlcohol Awareness TrainingAbility to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English)Just meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beveragesWorking knowledge of wine, spirits and regional cuisinesDemonstrates Leadership ability including skills to communicate and express ideas and directives clearly to associatesStrong problem analysis and problem resolution skillsStrong multi-tasking, organizational and time management skills to ensure a quick response to client needsHigh level of active listening skills and strong client service skills which includes the ability to resolve issues/complaints with tact and diplomacyStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong leadership and people management skillsProfessional and courteous demeanorAbility to create high performance teams and to be a strong team playerDemonstrate a strong commitment to company valuesOrganizational development abilities with a strong focus on individual and team advancementComputer proficiency in Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft OutlookAbility to maintain effective financial accountability to the company and to the ownershipComplete and comprehensive understanding of the physical infrastructure, food and beverage controls and financial back office systems of a hospitality/food service environmentWorking knowledge of food and beverage service equipment and current trendsExceptional personal hygiene and positive representation of the organization to Troon employees, clients and vendors
