## About the Role
Holston Hills Country Club is seeking a Banquet Manager to lead the banquet service function at the club. You'll be in charge of overseeing banquet service operations and supervising banquet service personnel to ensure member and guest satisfaction through proper food and beverage service and presentation.
## What You'll Do
As Banquet Manager, you'll work collaboratively with the Food and Beverage Manager, Chef, Restaurant Manager, and others to schedule and coordinate all personnel requirements. You'll develop detailed plans for each catered event working in conjunction with the club's function committee, which includes the Food and Beverage Director, Executive Chef, Banquet Sous Chef, Director of Catering, and Maintenance Director.
You'll serve as the key liaison between banquet service personnel and other staff members on the club's function committee, ensuring seamless communication and execution. Your responsibilities include diagrams buffet tables, guest tables, and other function room setups for special events. You'll hold pre-shift meetings with servers and bartenders to ensure smooth, efficient service, assigning stations and coordinating the timing of courses.
Maintaining high standards is critical to this role. You'll ensure that all banquet staff is well-groomed and in proper uniform with name tags. You'll regularly inspect all front- and back-of-the-house service areas and equipment to assure that sanitation, safety, energy management, preventive maintenance, and other departmental standards are met.
This position also involves assisting with ongoing sales efforts for group and local banquet business, and you'll contribute to the preparation of marketing plans and annual budgets to increase profitability of the banquet operation. You'll monitor performance against budgets and recommend advertising strategies. Additionally, you'll assure proper inventory of all banquet server equipment and supplies to meet required needs.
When needed, you'll act as Head Waiter at special, private functions and may greet and seat guests. You'll handle member and guest complaints and comments professionally. Your team management responsibilities include hiring, training, and supervising banquet service staff, as well as assisting with employee annual reviews and performance appraisals.
