Position Overview:
The Golf Course Operations Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Director of Golf Course Maintenance and the 1st Assistant Superintendent in daily operations. In this position, you will develop and manage turf grass and plant material maintenance programs, oversee asset management, manage personnel, and handle budgeting and financial management. You’ll also ensure adherence to regulatory requirements while enhancing the overall member experience on a single 18-hole course.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide agronomic expertise to promote the healthy growth of grasses, trees, and wetlands.Supervise chemical applications and uphold record-keeping in compliance with regulations.Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of golf course equipment, including planning for replacements as necessary.Maintain the golf course to the highest standards in alignment with company and industry guidelines.Control operational expenses and effectively manage the budget.Work with the Head Golf Professional to schedule maintenance around member play and events.Engage with members regularly to exceed their expectations and foster a strong community.Train staff on OSHA, safety protocols, and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.Facilitate ongoing technical and operational training for staff, promoting a culture of safety.Lead and participate in meetings to discuss club operations, maintenance schedules, and environmental concerns.About You:
Required:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Turf Management or a related field.At least 3 years of experience in Golf Course Maintenance.A minimum of 1 year of experience in budgeting for golf course and landscape maintenance.Technical knowledge of golf course operations and equipment.Current State Pesticide Applicators License (or must obtain within 90 days of employment).Valid driver's license.Preferred:
Comprehensive knowledge of business administration and golf course operational practices.Direct supervisory experience with a focus on confidentiality.What We Offer:
