Job Summary:
As the Golf Course Operations Superintendent, you will play a key role in assisting the Director of Golf Course Maintenance and the 1st Assistant Superintendent with daily operations. Your responsibilities will encompass developing and managing turf grass and plant care programs, overseeing property management, managing staff, and handling budgeting and financial management. You will ensure top-notch maintenance of a premier 18-hole golf course while fostering a positive member experience.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Provide agronomic oversight to promote the healthy growth of grasses, trees, wetlands, and other plant materials.Supervise chemical applications while ensuring compliance with all regulations.Manage the safe operation and maintenance of golf course mechanical equipment, planning for future needs.Uphold the golf course to the highest industry standards.Control expenses and adhere to budgetary constraints for golf course operations.Work closely with the Head Golf Professional to manage play schedules efficiently.Engage and communicate with members to exceed their expectations.Train staff on safety guidelines and maintain compliance with OSHA and relevant regulations.Provide continuous technical and operational training for staff, fostering a compliant and safe workplace.Participate in meetings concerning operational schedules, safety protocols, and environmental initiatives.About You:
Required Qualifications:
Associates or bachelor's degree in Turf Management or a related field.At least 3 years of experience in Golf Course Maintenance.A minimum of 1 year managing budgets for golf course and landscape maintenance.Technical knowledge of golf course operations and equipment.Current State Pesticide Applicators License or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of employment.Valid driver's license.Preferred Qualifications:
In-depth knowledge of business administration and golf course operations.Direct supervisory experience with a commitment to confidentiality.What We Offer:
