About the Role
Our client, a premier golf resort located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, US , is actively searching for a highly motivated and experienced Head Golf Professional. This pivotal role oversees all golf operations, ensuring an exceptional experience for members and guests. The Head Golf Professional will manage the golf shop, club fitting services, lessons, tournament operations, and course maintenance coordination, contributing to the resort's reputation for excellence in leisure and sports. This position requires a blend of strong business acumen, exceptional customer service skills, and a passion for the game of golf.
Key Responsibilities: Manage daily golf operations, including tee time scheduling, player assistance, and rules enforcement. Oversee the golf shop inventory, merchandising, and sales strategy. Develop and implement a comprehensive golf lesson program for players of all skill levels. Organize and execute club tournaments, member events, and special golf outings. Manage golf cart fleet maintenance and operations. Coordinate with the golf course superintendent regarding course conditions and playability. Provide exceptional customer service, building strong relationships with members and guests. Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising golf operations staff. Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding golf equipment, trends, and teaching methodologies. Manage budget for golf operations, striving for profitability and efficiency. Ensure adherence to club policies and procedures. Qualifications: PGA Professional Certification is mandatory. Minimum of 7 years of experience in golf operations, with at least 3 years in a Head Professional or Assistant Head Professional role. Proven track record in golf instruction and player development. Demonstrated experience in golf shop management, inventory control, and merchandising. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in golf course management software (e.g., Jonas, Lightspeed Golf). Experience in organizing and running successful golf tournaments and events. A passion for golf and a commitment to promoting the game. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor's degree in Golf Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
