About the Role
Our client, a prestigious golf club located in the vibrant heart of Tampa, Florida , is seeking an experienced and charismatic Head Golf Professional to oversee all aspects of golf operations. This is an on-site role requiring a passion for the game, exceptional customer service skills, and strong leadership abilities. The Head Golf Professional will be responsible for managing the golf shop, coordinating tournaments and events, providing expert golf instruction, and ensuring a world-class experience for all members and guests. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing the club's reputation and fostering a welcoming environment for golfers of all skill levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage daily golf operations, including tee time scheduling, cart fleet management, and course readiness. Manage the golf shop inventory, including purchasing, merchandising, and sales, ensuring profitability. Develop and implement a comprehensive golf instruction program, offering individual lessons, clinics, and playing lessons. Plan, organize, and execute successful tournaments, leagues, and special events for members and guests. Provide exceptional customer service, building strong relationships with members and ensuring their satisfaction. Manage and mentor the golf operations staff, including assistant professionals and shop attendants. Promote golf programs and services to attract new members and retain existing ones. Maintain an attractive and well-organized golf shop environment. Ensure adherence to club policies and procedures, as well as all golf etiquette and rules. Collaborate with the course superintendent and other department heads to ensure seamless operations. Stay updated on the latest trends in golf instruction, equipment, and club operations.
Qualifications:
PGA or LPGA certification is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a golf professional role, with at least 2 years in a Head Golf Professional or Assistant Head Professional capacity. Proven experience in golf instruction, tournament operations, and retail management. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse clientele. Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Proficiency in golf management software (e.g., Jonas, Lightspeed, ForeTees). A passion for golf and a commitment to providing outstanding member/guest experiences. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. A strong understanding of golf rules and etiquette. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Golf Management, or a related field is preferred.
