Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

Assistant Golf Course Superintendent Golf Club in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. Position Overview: This position is responsible for assisting the Superintendents in supervising crew, dispersing daily crew work assignments, and participating in the maintenance of the golf courses. • Ensures golf course grounds are maintained at pristine, tournament quality conditions • Assists in supervising and training a crew of 20 plus employees • Maintains and directs repairs to irrigation system • Ensures the application and management of fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, and pesticides in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. • Maintain required certifications and application records. • Monitor turf health and identify disease, insect, or environmental stress issues. • Coordinate with equipment operators regarding maintenance and repair needs. • Ensure proper operation and care of maintenance equipment. • Assist in maintaining maintenance facilities, storage areas, and inventory controls. • Monitor supplies and assist with ordering materials as needed. • Follows all state and local safety and environmental standards • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, and local regulations. • Assist with safety meetings and trainings • Other duties as directed. Requirements – Extensive knowledge of turf, soil, fertilizers, pesticides, golf course equipment and irrigation technology – Previous supervisory experience preferred – Possess strong communication, problem solving, and organizational skills – Ability to work flexible schedule and long hours when necessary – Keen attention to detail and strong sense of urgency – Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
