About the Role
WingHaven Country Club, a Heritage Golf Group property, is seeking a skilled and dependable Equipment Technician to join its golf course maintenance team.
Located in O’Fallon, Missouri, WingHaven is an 18-hole private country club in the St. Louis area. The Equipment Technician will play an essential role in maintaining the performance, safety, and reliability of the equipment used to deliver exceptional playing conditions for our Members and Guests.
Position Summary
The Equipment Technician is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, adjustment, and preventive maintenance of the golf course maintenance equipment fleet. This position works closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and maintenance team to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently while minimizing downtime.
Primary Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair gasoline-, diesel-, electric-, and hydraulically powered equipment
- Maintain reel and rotary cutting units, including grinding, sharpening, setup, and adjustment
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance in accordance with manufacturer recommendations
- Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and engine-related issues
- Maintain accurate service, repair, parts, and preventive-maintenance records
- Monitor parts and shop supplies and assist with inventory management
- Establish and maintain an organized, clean, and safe maintenance facility
- Ensure equipment is operating properly and safely before returning it to service
- Communicate equipment status and repair priorities to the Golf Course Superintendent
- Train team members in the safe operation and daily care of equipment
- Assist with equipment purchasing, replacement planning, and vendor coordination as requested
- Support golf course maintenance operations when needed
- Previous experience repairing and maintaining golf course, landscape, agricultural, or similar equipment
- Working knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and small-engine repair
- Experience with reel grinding, bedknife grinding, and cutting-unit setup strongly preferred
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and time-management skills
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper shop practices
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with the maintenance team
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift and move parts, tools, and equipment associated with the position
- Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays when course operations require it
