Golf Course Superintendent

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Golf Course Superintendent to lead the maintenance and overall management of our premier golf course. This vital role involves overseeing landscape maintenance, turf management, irrigation systems, and plant care to ensure the course remains in optimal condition for players and events. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, team management skills, and a passion for horticulture and landscaping. As a key member of our team, you will drive excellence in course presentation, sustainability initiatives, and construction projects that enhance the golf experience. Responsibilities Lead and supervise the daily operations of the golf course maintenance team, including crew management and scheduling. Oversee landscape maintenance activities such as mowing, fertilizing, aeration, and pest control to maintain pristine turf conditions. Manage irrigation systems to ensure efficient water use, troubleshooting issues related to irrigation and drainage. Identify plants, trees, and shrubs to inform pruning, planting, and disease management strategies. Coordinate construction projects related to course improvements or infrastructure upgrades. Implement lawn care practices that promote healthy growth and resilience across all course areas. Conduct regular inspections of the course to ensure adherence to safety standards and quality benchmarks. Develop maintenance schedules for landscaping elements, trees, and garden areas while ensuring sustainable practices are followed. Collaborate with external contractors on specialized tasks such as tree care or landscape renovations. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment servicing, and project progress to support operational efficiency. Experience Proven supervising experience in landscape maintenance or golf course management with a strong background in turfgrass science or horticulture. Extensive knowledge of landscaping techniques, plant identification, lawn care, and tree care best practices. Hands-on experience managing irrigation systems and troubleshooting related issues effectively. Construction experience related to golf course development or renovation projects is highly desirable. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively while fostering a positive work environment. Familiarity with construction standards and environmental regulations impacting course maintenance. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining records and scheduling tasks efficiently.
