Assistant Superintendent, Golf Course

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Superintendent, Golf Course to join our team and help elevate the quality and beauty of our premier golf facilities. In this role, you will assist in overseeing daily grounds maintenance, landscaping, and turf management activities to ensure the course remains in exceptional condition. Your leadership will be vital in coordinating team efforts, managing construction projects, and maintaining the highest standards of outdoor work. Duties Assist in supervising daily groundskeeping operations, including lawn care, landscape maintenance, and turf management to ensure optimal course conditions. Lead and manage a team of grounds crew members, providing guidance on landscaping, planting, pruning, and hardscape installation. Oversee irrigation system operations and maintenance to promote healthy turf and plant growth across the course. Coordinate construction projects related to course improvements or renovations, ensuring timely and quality execution. Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, trimmers, irrigation tools, and landscaping machinery safely and efficiently. Identify various plants, trees, and shrubs to maintain proper landscape health and aesthetics. Manage outdoor work schedules, assign tasks effectively, and ensure compliance with safety standards for all crew members. Conduct regular inspections of grounds for issues such as pest infestations or disease; implement appropriate horticultural or tree care solutions. Support hardscape projects including pathways, bridges, or decorative features by collaborating with contractors or internal teams. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment usage, and project progress for operational efficiency. Experience Proven supervising experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance within a golf course or similar outdoor environment. Extensive knowledge of lawn care practices, turf management, landscaping techniques, and horticulture principles. Hands-on experience operating grounds maintenance equipment and groundskeeping tools safely. Strong understanding of irrigation management systems and troubleshooting irrigation issues effectively. Construction experience related to outdoor projects such as hardscape installation or course renovations is highly desirable. Ability to identify various plants, trees, and shrubs accurately; knowledge of plant health care is preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams efficiently while fostering a positive work environment. Experience working on construction projects or outdoor site development is advantageous. Excellent outdoor work stamina with a focus on safety protocols; valid driver’s license for company vehicle operation required.
