Facilities Manager - Golf Club Clubhouse
Position Summary
The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, operation, safety, and appearance of the golf club clubhouse and associated facilities. This role ensures that all buildings, mechanical systems, grounds surrounding the clubhouse, and member-facing amenities are maintained to the highest standards. The Facilities Manager works closely with club leadership, food and beverage operations, golf operations, and outside contractors to provide a safe, efficient, and exceptional environment for members, guests, and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Facility Operations & Maintenance
Manage the daily operation and maintenance of the clubhouse and related facilities.
Oversee preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, kitchen equipment, irrigation controls, elevators, and building systems.
Conduct regular inspections of buildings and equipment to identify repair needs and safety concerns.
Ensure facility cleanliness, functionality, and appearance meet club standards.
Coordinate and supervise repairs, renovations, and capital improvement projects.
Vendor and Contractor Management
Source, negotiate, and manage service contracts with vendors and contractors.
Schedule and oversee contractor work to ensure quality, compliance, and timely completion.
Review contractor invoices and service agreements for accuracy and budget compliance.
Safety and Compliance
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Implement workplace safety programs and maintain OSHA compliance.
Conduct regular safety inspections and emergency preparedness reviews.
Maintain records related to inspections, permits, and safety requirements.
Budget and Financial Management
Prepare and manage facility maintenance and capital expenditure budgets.
Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
Assist in developing long-term facility improvement plans.
Team Leadership
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate maintenance staff.
Assign work schedules and ensure adequate staffing coverage.
Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and exceptional service.
Member and Guest Experience
Respond promptly to facility-related concerns from members and staff.
Ensure clubhouse facilities support a high-quality member experience.
Coordinate facility support for tournaments, weddings, banquets, and special events.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years of facilities management experience, preferably in hospitality, country club, golf club, resort, or luxury service environments.
Experience managing building systems, maintenance programs, and contractors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building maintenance systems.
Understanding of safety regulations and preventive maintenance practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Proficiency with maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong budgeting and project management skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to walk, stand, climb ladders, and inspect facilities regularly.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds when necessary.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Work Schedule
Full-time position.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as required by club operations.
Availability for emergency response and on-call facility needs.
