## Lead Bartender — Troubadour Golf & Field Club (outside Nashville, Tennessee)

Troubadour Golf & Field Club is seeking a Lead Bartender to join the Food and Beverage Service Department. The Lead Bartender serves as the team leader for the bar staff and leads by example with excellent customer service, extensive knowledge of food and beverage pairings, and flawless beverage creation. The Lead Bartender partners with Food and Beverage Leadership to oversee efficient operations of bar locations and will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.
**_Hourly rate range from $21.00 - $23.00 per hour plus gratuities_**
What you'll be doing day-to-day includes overseeing bar staff to ensure they provide exceptional service and communication at all times with members, guests, and team members. You will greet guests and members politely and promptly, proactively anticipate needs, and demonstrate a sense of urgency when responding to guest requests. You will partner with Food & Beverage and Culinary Leadership to create beverage pairings and memorable experiences. Supervision and training of bar staff on SOPs of bar operation is part of the role, including preparing and delivering drinks, handling food, entering orders into the POS, and bar set up and break down. You will also oversee bar inventories and supplies, assist with ordering and stocking as needed, and maintain cleanliness and organization of bar and storage areas, completing daily stocking and opening/closing procedures while monitoring perishable expiration and adhering to food safety standards.
A strong focus on craft and consistency is required: execute exceptional craft cocktails, follow recipes for syrups and all house-made ingredients, and prepare and serve beverages to company standards, including pour ratio. Present extensive knowledge of beverages and ingredients, and make recommendations based upon preferences or food pairings, including wine knowledge. Accurately enter all transactions into the POS system, issue accurate checks, and close sales timely and according to policies and procedures. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
We require the following qualifications and experience exactly as stated:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven leadership skills in Food and Beverage operations at a high end or luxury resort, restaurant, or private club.
- Two (2) to three (3) years of previous bartending experience, preferably in a fast paced, luxury restaurant, resort, or private club.
- Knowledge of HACCP & local food safety standards; possesses or can obtain State Food Safety Certificate.
- Robust knowledge of wines and beverage.
- A passion for trends within the liquor community and the ability to think creatively about new drinks or menu items the bar may develop.
- Extraordinary attention to detail, quality and service.
Additional requirements include a positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members. You must be able to work flexible hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays; long hours may be required due to business demands. The role requires the ability to work in a team environment and to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is required; additional languages preferred. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
