The Lead Bartender position at Troubadour Golf & Field Club is a vital role within the Food and Beverage Service Department. This hourly position offers a competitive wage ranging from $21.00 to $23.00 per hour, plus gratuities. The Lead Bartender serves as the pivotal team leader for the bar staff, setting standards through exemplary customer service, advanced knowledge of food and beverage pairings, and impeccable beverage crafting skills. This role requires a proactive partnership with Food and Beverage Leadership to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all bar locations.
In this role, the Lead Bartender is responsible for cultivating the Discovery Land Company experience for members and employees alike. This includes overseeing bar staff to ensure exceptional service, greeting members and guests with professionalism and urgency, collaborating with culinary and beverage leadership to develop creative beverage pairings, supervising training programs, managing inventory, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of bar areas. The Lead Bartender must also embody a deep understanding of all menu items, including food allergy awareness, and possess expertise in crafting cocktails and recommending beverages based on member preferences and food pairings.
The ideal candidate will have proven leadership experience in upscale or luxury hospitality environments such as high-end restaurants, resorts, or private clubs, along with 2 to 3 years of bartending experience in fast-paced settings. A strong knowledge of wines, beverages, and local food safety standards, along with certification or the ability to obtain a State Food Safety Certificate, is paramount. This role demands a passion for industry trends, creativity in developing new drink menus, impeccable attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering quality service.
Additional expectations include a positive, professional demeanor, exceptional interpersonal communication skills, and the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. The ability to remain calm and focused during busy periods and fulfill physical demands such as prolonged standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds is essential.
