Position Summary
Plantation Palms Golf Club is seeking a dependable, hands-on Golf Course Maintenance Irrigation Technician to support the daily operation, repair, and maintenance of the golf course irrigation systems and grounds infrastructure. This position plays a critical role in maintaining healthy turf conditions and ensuring the golf course, driving range, and surrounding landscape areas remain in excellent condition year-round. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Irrigation System Operations & Repair
Monitor, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair golf course irrigation systems including:
Controllers
Valves
Pumps
Pipe systems
Sprinkler heads
Electrical components
Satellite control units
Perform daily irrigation checks and make watering adjustments based on:
Weather conditions
Turf health
Seasonal requirements
Water conservation goals
Diagnose electrical and hydraulic irrigation issues.
Assist with pump station maintenance and monitoring.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts inventory, and irrigation schedules.
Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and improve system efficiency.
Golf Course & Grounds Support
Assist the Golf Course Maintenance team with:
Mowing
String trimming
Bunker maintenance
Course setup
Landscaping
Drainage projects
Fertilizer and chemical applications (if certified)
Support special projects, course improvements, and seasonal renovations.
Help maintain safe and clean work areas and maintenance facilities.
Equipment & Safety
Operate maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.
Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
Report unsafe conditions or equipment concerns promptly.
Qualifications
Previous golf course irrigation or landscape irrigation experience preferred.
Basic understanding of:
Irrigation systems
Plumbing
Electrical troubleshooting
Pump systems
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Strong work ethic and reliability.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in Florida weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license preferred.
Golf course maintenance experience is a plus.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Toro, Rain Bird, or similar irrigation systems.
Knowledge of turfgrass management practices.
Ability to read irrigation maps and wiring diagrams.
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Pesticide or fertilizer certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
