Duties
Install new irrigation systems, including piping, sprinkler heads, controllers, and automated control systems, ensuring precise placement for optimal coverage
Perform routine irrigation maintenance to keep systems operating at peak efficiency and troubleshoot issues promptly
Conduct system troubleshooting to diagnose electrical faults, mechanical failures, or control malfunctions using diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment
Repair and replace irrigation equipment such as valves, pumps, controllers, and sensors with precision and care
Oversee irrigation system repair projects from start to finish, coordinating excavation work with heavy machinery like excavators and hand tools as needed
Manage irrigation schedules using automated control systems to optimize water usage based on soil science data and weather conditions
Collaborate with landscaping and turf management teams to integrate irrigation with overall landscape maintenance and lawn care strategies
Requirements
Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in irrigation system installation, repair, and maintenance
Hands-on experience with new irrigation system installation projects and ongoing system troubleshooting
Strong electrical diagnostics skills related to automated irrigation control systems
Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, excavators, and other construction equipment safely and effectively
Knowledge of landscaping principles, soil science, horticulture, and turf management practices
Prior experience with irrigation management software or control systems is highly desirable
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients
Construction experience or familiarity with excavation processes for underground piping or system upgrades
