About the position
The Golf Shop Attendant ensures all guests are greeted in a friendly and courteous manner, handles all payment transactions, maximizes guest satisfaction, and performs general duties as assigned by the Golf Professional. This role involves handling sales transactions, maintaining accurate records for the Golf Shop with emphasis on retail/golf transactions, reporting stock levels, and maintaining a high level of cleanliness. The attendant must adhere to all rules and regulations, report guest dissatisfaction and accidents/injuries, and assist guests with the highest level of professionalism. Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate records with emphasis on inventory control and sales records, possessing computer and inventory brand knowledge, and having overall knowledge of the game of golf and related merchandise sales.
Responsibilities
Handle all sales transactions made through the Golf ShopMaintain accurate records for the Golf Shop with special emphasis on retail/golf transactionsReport stock levels of guest, retail, and office supplies to managerMaintain a high level of cleanliness for all areas within the DepartmentAdhere to all rules and regulations established in standard operation procedure manual for BCG/BCL/Bass Pro ShopsReport all incidents of guest dissatisfaction to the managerReport all accidents/injuries that occur during the execution of Golf Shop business or on Big Cedar Lodge property through proper channels.Assist guests with the highest level of professionalismMaintain accurate records with special emphasis on inventory control and sales recordsHave computer and inventory brand knowledgeHave overall knowledge of the game of golf and in sales of related merchandise, golf clubs, balls, bags, gloves, etc.Perform other duties as requiredRequirements
High School Diploma or EquivalentAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Basic Computer Skills - Using basic computer hardware and software (e.g., personal computers, word processing software, Internet browsers, etc.).The ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, a sense of urgency and a real concern for guest satisfaction.Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.Frequently required to walk.Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Nice-to-haves
