About the Role
Job Summary:
The Golf Pro Shop Attendant is responsible for delivering a warm, engaging, and efficient experience for members and guests while supporting the daily operations of the golf shop. This position assists with merchandise sales, tee time inquiries, inventory management, and shop presentation, while maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Greet members and guests warmly, making them feel welcome and valued
Provide exceptional hospitality and service that reflects the standards of Sea Pines Resort
Answer questions regarding golf merchandise, equipment, apparel, and tee time availability
Assist with merchandise sales and support daily golf operations
Process transactions accurately and efficiently through point-of-sale systems
Handle payments and provide accurate change while maintaining excellent customer service
Receive, unpack, price, and stock merchandise
Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail environment
Assist with inventory counts, inventory control procedures, and sales record maintenance
Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of golf merchandise, equipment, and services offered
Assist with special orders, shipping, and mailing requests
Respond professionally to guest concerns and resolve issues within departmental and resort guidelines
Work independently when needed while maintaining high service standards
Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of three months of retail, hospitality, golf operations, or related customer service experience preferred
Experience with point-of-sale systems, cash handling, and basic computer applications required
Retail sales experience preferred
Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Professional appearance and demeanor with a commitment to guest satisfaction
Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets commercial insurance requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively with guests, members, coworkers, and vendors
Ability to read and understand basic instructions, correspondence, and operational procedures
Basic math skills, including the ability to accurately process transactions and make change
Ability to use sound judgment and apply common-sense decision-making in daily operations
Ability to handle guest concerns professionally and effectively
Ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds, age groups, and interests
Demonstrates integrity, dependability, accountability, and a positive service-oriented attitude
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequent use of hands for handling merchandise, operating equipment, and processing transactions
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift as needed
Regularly lift and carry up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
Ability to perform tasks requiring close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
Work Environment:
This position is based in a golf retail environment and frequently involves direct interaction with members and guests. Team members may work independently for periods of time while maintaining service standards and operational efficiency. The role requires maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming shop environment while supporting daily golf operations and retail sales activities.

Through exceptional service, product knowledge, and operational support, the Golf Shop Sales Associate helps strengthen guest satisfaction, foster loyalty, and uphold the prestigious reputation of Sea Pines Resort.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No direct supervisory responsibilities; responsible for effective self-management and adherence to resort standards.
