Pro Shop Assistant

Position Summary Under the direction of the Head Golf Professional, the incumbent performs one or more of the following types of work: Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers to check in to play golf Sells shop merchandise Opens and closes pro shop Keeps pro shop and restrooms tidy Opens and/or closes cash register daily Gathers and cleans range balls Cleans and gases carts Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving university vehicles Experience operating a cash register, processing transactions, and handling money Active or previous experience playing the game of golf Due to the duties of this position, successful candidates must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred Qualifications Experience operating a cash register, processing transactions, and handling money Experience working in a golf course pro shop or outside services department Experience providing customer service and building good customer relationships Member of PGA or enrolled in PGM program with successful completion of PAT Strong mathematical, verbal, and written communication skills Ability to work well in stressful and fast-paced environments Experience safely operating golf carts Demonstrated reliability and punctuality in previous employment
