ASSISTANT GOLF COURSE MANAGER

The City of Lake Worth Beach is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as **Assistant Golf Course Manager** (also referred to as Head Professional). This is a full-time, non-bargaining, exempt position based at our golf course located at One 7th Avenue North, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33460. The annual salary is $64,118.00. In this role, you will work closely with the Golf Course Manager to oversee all golf shop operations and outside services. Your primary focus will be ensuring every patron receives outstanding customer service that meets or exceeds expectations. You'll be instrumental in organizing and running golf events such as tournaments, outings, and leagues. Teaching is a key component too—you'll provide individual and group lessons, lead clinics, and run junior camps and leagues. Your efforts will directly enhance the club’s products, services, and competitive position. ### Day-to-day responsibilities include: - Overseeing and managing the daily tee time reservation system - Scheduling and supervising golf shop assistants, outside service staff, and volunteers - Ensuring proper opening, closing, and security procedures for the golf shop and storage facilities - Assisting with merchandise display, stocking, and inventory control - Promoting and booking corporate tournaments and outings - Coordinating Ladies Golf Association events - Operating and producing junior camps and leagues - Delivering individual and group golf lessons - Monitoring the condition and maintenance of the golf cart fleet - Helping the Director of Golf track rounds and set golf rates - Entering and maintaining handicap records in the GHIN system - Submitting all required reports efficiently and on time - Working a 40-hour week that includes weekends ### What you need to bring: We prefer candidates with a college degree, though it's not required. You must be a PGA Associate at Level 2 or higher—Class A status is preferred. A minimum of two years of experience as a PGA Associate is required. Hands-on experience with Golf Genius and the GHIN handicap system is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously are a must. ### Work environment and physical demands: You should be comfortable sitting or standing for long periods and working on a computer for extended stretches. The job involves exposure to diverse weather conditions and requires the physical capacity for light to moderate lifting (up to 40 pounds).
