Head Golf Professional

<p>The Shell Point PGA Head Golf Professional will report to the Shell Point Director of Golf and is responsible for the day-to-day golf operations, staff leadership, member/player experience, and instructional programming.</p> <p>The PGA Head Golf Professional serves as the operational leader responsible for delivering an exceptional day-to-day golf experience and ensuring the golf department runs smoothly.</p> <p><strong>Daily Golf Operations</strong></p> <ul> <li>Oversee daily golf shop operations and ensure exceptional customer service.</li> <li>Manage tee sheet operations, pace of play, and the resident/member experiences.</li> <li>Coordinate daily play with golf course maintenance staff.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with Shell Point policies/standards and safety procedures.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Staff Leadership</strong></p> <ul> <li>Recruit, hire, train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate; golf shop staff, starters, and rangers.</li> <li>Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions.</li> <li>Foster a positive, professional, and service-oriented team culture.</li> <li>Assist with employee performance management and development.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Member and Guest Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Build strong relationships with members and guests.</li> <li>Address concerns, resolve complaints, and ensure high satisfaction levels.</li> <li>Welcome new members and help integrate them into club activities.</li> <li>Maintain a visible presence around the golf facility.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Tournament and Event Management</strong></p> <ul> <li>Plan, organize, and execute tournaments, leagues, member events, and corporate outings.</li> <li>Prepare tournament materials, pairings, scoring, and results.</li> <li>Coordinate food and beverage, maintenance, and outside vendors for events.</li> <li>Ensure tournaments run efficiently and professionally.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Golf Instruction</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide private and group instruction.</li> <li>Develop junior golf, ladies', beginner, and player development programs.</li> <li>Conduct clinics and golf schools.</li> <li>Promote instructional services and grow participation.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Merchandising and Retail</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist with golf shop merchandising and product selection.</li> <li>Monitor inventory levels and coordinate ordering.</li> <li>Maintain attractive displays and merchandising standards.</li> <li>Help achieve retail sales goals.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Administrative Duties</strong></p> <ul> <li>Maintain handicap services and tournament software.</li> <li>Prepare reports related to rounds, revenue, instruction, and events.</li> <li>Manage lesson scheduling and billing.</li> <li>Ensure accurate recordkeeping and compliance with club policies.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Financial Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Help manage departmental budgets.</li> <li>Monitor labor costs and scheduling efficiency.</li> <li>Support revenue growth through instruction, merchandising, and programming.</li> <li>Review daily sales and operational reports.</li> </ul>
