General Manager and/or Superintendent Country Hills Golf Course Summary Springfield IL-area 18-hole public golf course is seeking a motivated leader to oversee day-to-day operations. This position is flexible depending on the candidate’s strengths:

AGeneral Managerwith operations, business, or golf background who can oversee all aspects of the clubhouse, golf, and events,and/or

ASuperintendentwith turf/maintenance expertise who is interested in expanding into facility and business management.

For the right candidate, this can be ahybrid GM/Superintendent role, combining both sides of the business in one leadership position. As a small business in a close-knit community, this is a rare opportunity to essentially run your own golf course — from greens to clubhouse.

Responsibilities (based on candidate background and experience):

Operations & Business

Manage daily golf operations: tee sheet, check-ins, carts, and pro shop Oversee F&B and merchandise (inventory, ordering, display, pricing) Plan/manage leagues, tournaments, outings, and special events Recruit new outings, players, and season pass holders Create/execute marketing plan (email, social, traditional media) Schedule, train, and manage staff (pro shop, F&B, seasonal help) Assist with financial management: receipts, P&L, budgeting, reporting

Course Maintenance

Lead or oversee golf course maintenance program Supervise maintenance crew and manage equipment Develop agronomic plan for turf health and playability Manage irrigation, mowing, chemical/fertilizer programs, course set-up Ensure conditioning standards are met within budget

About You

Strong leadership and customer service skills Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with minimal oversight Background ingolf operations/business managementORgolf course maintenance(superintendent/assistant superintendent) Willingness to learn the “other side” of the business (ops learning turf OR superintendent learning business) Business management, HR, financial, and/or marketing experience is a plus Degree in turfgrass, business, sports management, or related field preferred but not required Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
