About the Role
Golf Course Equipment Technician
Nature of Work:
This is a technically skilled entry level position that assists in the performance of preventative maintenance and repairs to the Golf Departments summer and winter equipment; including but not limited to reels and blades.
The position also performs in various Golf Course laborer duties including mowing, plowing and other miscellaneous duties as needed.
*Due to the demands of our industry, this role requires flexibility to work weekends and subject to overtime. * Saturday hours mandatory
Supervision:
Reports directly to the Facilities Manager/Golf Course Superintendent.
Example of Work:
Maintains and repairs all equipment
Performs inspections of all operating equipment and follows a strict preventative maintenance schedule on all machines.
Performs Golf Course seasonal work: mowing, snow removal, aerification, plantings and overall Golf Course preparation work.
Desirable Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of small mechanical equipment; greens mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers, string mowers, blowers, etc.
Knowledge of small engine both Gasoline and Diesel power, and the ability to perform small repairs to said engines.
Ability to weld and fabricate certain tools as needed.
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and prepare required reports, must work independently on projects.
Considerable knowledge of the precautions to work safely with and around automotive and mechanical equipment.
Skill in the operation of moderately complex construction and maintenance equipment.
Physical strength needed to perform heavy manual labor, often under adverse weather conditions.
Golf Course Equipment Technician
Desirable Experience and Training:
High School Graduate or equivalent. 3 to 5 years’ experience in golf course maintenance.
Must posse a valid CT driver’s license. Preference given to employee with Commercial driver’s license.
Pay: $30.77 - $33.31 per hour
