About the Role
Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Golf Course Equipment Technician/Mechanic and play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of course equipment performance. In this position, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of golf course machinery and equipment to ensure smooth operation and optimal turf conditions. Your expertise will directly contribute to delivering an exceptional experience for golfers and supporting the overall excellence of our golf course operations.
Duties
Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on golf course equipment, including mowers, utility vehicles, aerators, and power tools.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel systems using schematics and diagnostic tools.
Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, blade sharpening, small engine repairs, and electrical system checks to prevent breakdowns.
Repair and maintain diesel engines, power generation systems, and heavy machinery with a focus on Caterpillar equipment and other major brands.
Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding, soldering, and mechanical systems repair techniques to restore equipment functionality efficiently.
Assist with equipment upgrades or modifications using welding and electrical skills to improve performance or safety features.
Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and company quality protocols while maintaining detailed service records for each piece of equipment.
Experience
Proven experience or service technician background with a strong understanding of golf course maintenance equipment repair principles.
Hands-on experience with electrical diagnostics, schematics interpretation, and complex equipment troubleshooting.
Knowledge of diesel engine repair, small engine maintenance, and mechanical systems repair is essential.
Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques, manual handling safety procedures, and the use of power tools is required.
Experience working with various machinery and heavy equipment brands is highly desirable. Toro, Jacobsen, John Deere...
Strong mechanical knowledge combined with customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Prior experience in equipment repair within a golf course or landscaping environment is mandatory.
