Assistant Golf Professional | Kalamazoo Country Club | Part Time

Job Description What You’ll Be Doing May include, but not limited to: Essential Duties & Responsibilities – Member Service & Experience • Provide high-level service and engagement to KCC members and guests. • Serve as a visible presence in the golf shop, on the tee, and throughout the property. • Assist with member communication, tee time management, and daily play flow. Golf Operations • Assist in the management of daily golf operations including tee sheets, pace of play, and cart operations. • Conduct opening and closing procedures as assigned. • Enforce club policies, dress code, and rules of golf in a professional manner. Tournament & Event Operations • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing member events, leagues, outings, and championships. • Manage tournament setup, scoring, results posting, and on-course support. • Communicate effectively with participants before, during, and after events. Instruction & Player Development • Provide individual and group instruction to members when appropriate. • Support club programming includes clinics, camps, leagues, and player development initiatives. Golf Shop Operations & Sales • Assist with retail sales, merchandising, inventory control, and POS systems. • Promote shop programs, fittings, and special events. • Support custom club fitting services as needed. Staff Leadership • Assist in training, mentoring, and supervising outside services personnel. • Lead by example with professionalism, work ethic, and service standards. What You Need for this Position • PGA Member in Good Standing or PGA Associate actively progressing toward membership. • 2–5 years of experience in golf operations; private club experience preferred. • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and tournament days. • Knowledge of golf operations software and POS systems preferred. • Professional, dependable, detail oriented • Member-focused mindset with a passion for hospitality. • Strong work ethic and team-first attitude. • Desire to grow within the PGA profession and private club environment.
