This position serves as the full-time Assistant Coach for the men’s and women’s golf programs, reporting directly to the Head Golf Coach. The Assistant Coach provides leadership and support in the recruitment, development, and success of student-athletes.Provide outstanding teaching and skill instruction for a high-performing NCAA Division III varsity athletic program including the teaching of technical skills, course management, and competitive mindset.Recruit and retain highly talented athletes who also have the academic acumen to thrive at SU.Participation in fund raising activities to support program objectives.Compliance with all university, conference, and NCAA policies, procedures, and bylaws.Be an outstanding mentor to our students by modeling professionalism and high moral standards.Support classroom excellent by utilizing all available university resources in support of students.ADDITIONAL DUTIESServe as an Administrator in Charge (AIC) of select events during the year.Participate on campus committees as requested.Serve as an instructor for ESS or FRA classes if qualified.Other reasonable duties as assigned by the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics or designee.Minimum education, experience, licenses, certifications, and competencies (knowledge, skills, and behaviors) which are necessary for performing the listed duties.Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or universityProven experience in teaching, coaching, and the ability to demonstrate proper techniques unique to the sportCPR and First Aid or a willingness to become certified within three months of hireHave knowledge, understanding, and acceptance of cultural differences and the diversity within the campus and community.Further preferred qualifications which are also desirable for performing the listed duties.Collegiate or professional playing experience in the sportExperience in recruiting college-level varsity athletesStarting annual salary: $31,000. The final offer for the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience and may exceed the starting annual salary.
