CLASSIFICATION: Full-time Golf Course Maintenance Crew Member.
REPORTS TO: Golf Course Superintendent
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Rock Hill Country Club is seeking applicants for a full-time golf course maintenance crew member position. Rock Hill Country Club is an eighteen-hole private golf course located in Rock Hill South Carolina, a short thirty-minute drive from Charlotte, NC. Founded in 1934 the original nine holes, now the clubs front nine was designed by golf course architect A.W. Tillinghast and the second nine holes were designed and built by Arthur Hamm in 1949. In 2013 Kris Spence redesigned / renovated all eighteen holes which is what stands today. The putting surfaces are Mini-Verde ultra dwarf bermudagrass. Tees, fairways, surrounds and rough consist of 419 bermudagrass. This individual will receive daily instructions and report directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and or the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Showing up at least ten minutes before shift begins.
Complete daily tasks as instructed by the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant.
Perform daily golf course maintenance tasks which include but are not limited to: (daily bunker maintenance, mowing of greens, tees, fairways, and surrounds.)
The ability to operate a variety of golf course maintenance equipment.
Operate string trimmers and backpack blowers.
Communicates and reports any needs or problems relating to daily tasks.
Attends staff meetings.
Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Superintendent.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Will work outdoors and may be exposed to wet and/or hot conditions.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
Exposure to loud equipment.
Must be able to stand and walk for up to twelve (8) hours per day.
Move or lift objects up to 50 pounds.
May need to use some protective equipment, such as a respirator, gloves, earplugs, eye guards/visors, boots, and hat.
Must be able to climb, crawl, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push or pull.
Communication, to include reading, hearing, and talking with employees.
Educational Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general educations degree (GED), required.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
