Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Golf Course Maintenance Worker to join our team and contribute to the upkeep and aesthetic appeal of our golf course. This role involves performing a variety of groundskeeping and landscaping tasks to ensure the course remains in excellent condition for players and visitors. Duties
Maintain the overall appearance of the golf course by mowing, edging, and trimming grass using lawn care equipment.
Operate and perform routine maintenance on groundskeeping machinery, including mowers, chainsaws, power tools, and irrigation systems.
Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, fertilizing, watering, and pruning trees, shrubs, and flower beds.
Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues as needed.
Apply pesticides and fertilizers following safety guidelines to control pests and promote healthy turf growth.
Conduct manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of equipment, soil, or landscaping materials.
Perform regular inspections of grounds to identify areas requiring repair or improvement; execute necessary repairs or coordinate with specialists.
Operate company vehicles responsibly for transportation across the course and related facilities.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to power tool use, pesticide management, and equipment operation.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment usage, and safety checks.
Skills
Proficiency in irrigation system management and troubleshooting.
Experience with athletic field groundskeeping, landscape maintenance, gardening, and horticulture practices.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, chainsaws, and grounds maintenance equipment.
Knowledge of pesticide application procedures and safety standards.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
Strong understanding of lawn care techniques and landscaping principles.
Familiarity with equipment maintenance routines to ensure longevity and optimal performance.
Excellent manual handling skills combined with attention to safety protocols.
Ability to operate company vehicles responsibly in accordance with traffic laws.
Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting issues effectively.
