Located in the north side Chicago suburb of Glenview, The Glen Club is a world-class daily fee golf club with corporate memberships. The facility includes a Tom Fazio-designed golf course and a 50,000 sq. ft. clubhouse that houses a golf shop, locker rooms, a full-service restaurant, spacious banquet facilities, 21 overnight guest accommodations, the Illinois Golf Hall of Fame, Korn Ferry Golf Tour event and is the home of the Illinois Section of the PGA.
Position Summary:
The Building Assistant Maintenance Person supports the maintenance and upkeep of building facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment for occupants and visitors. This position assists with routine repairs, preventive maintenance, inspections, and general building services under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on building systems, equipment, and fixtures.
Assist with preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Conduct regular inspections of building interiors and exteriors to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely and professional manner.
Repair or replace doors, locks, light fixtures, ceiling tiles, faucets, and other building components.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance shops, storage areas, and equipment.
Assist with painting, carpentry, drywall repairs, and other general maintenance tasks.
Support seasonal maintenance activities, including snow removal, salting, landscaping, and groundskeeping.
Monitor building systems and report malfunctions, hazards, or unusual conditions to supervisors.
Ensure compliance with safety policies, building regulations, and company procedures.
Assist contractors and vendors performing work on-site as needed.
Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory records.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous building maintenance, facilities, custodial, or handyman experience preferred.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repair techniques.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Good communication and customer service abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver’s license may be required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools.
Working Conditions:
Full-time or part-time position as required.
May require evening, weekend, or on-call availability for emergency maintenance situations.
Exposure to dust, noise, chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions.

Salary Range:
$18 to $24 per hour
