The Summit Golf Club is seeking an experienced, motivated, and mechanically skilled Superintendent to oversee all aspects of golf course maintenance and operations.

Position Summary
The Superintendent is responsible for planning, directing, and executing all golf course maintenance activities to provide outstanding course conditions while maintaining budgets, equipment, and staff. This individual will work closely with ownership and golf operations to ensure an exceptional experience for our members and guests. This position is a full-time year round opportunity.
Primary ResponsibilitiesGolf Course & Turf Management
Develop and implement comprehensive turf management programs.
Maintain championship-quality greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and practice facilities.
Monitor turf health and identify disease, insect, weed, irrigation, and fertility issues.
Plan and perform fertilizer, pesticide, aerification, topdressing, overseeding, and cultural practice programs.
Maintain proper mowing heights and daily course setup.
Oversee bunker maintenance, landscaping, tree management, drainage, and course improvements.
Monitor weather conditions and adjust irrigation and maintenance practices accordingly.
Irrigation Management
Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain the golf course irrigation system.
Schedule watering programs to maximize turf health while conserving water.
Repair irrigation heads, valves, pipe breaks, controllers, and pumps as needed.
Monitor pump station performance and water usage.
Equipment & Mechanical Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance on all golf course equipment.
Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs whenever possible.
Coordinate larger repairs or warranty work when necessary.
Maintain detailed equipment service records.
Ensure equipment is clean, safe, and operating efficiently.
Manage parts inventory and equipment replacement planning.
Strong mechanical skills are essential. The ideal candidate should be comfortable troubleshooting and repairing mowing equipment, utility vehicles, tractors, small engines, hydraulic systems, and other golf course maintenance equipment.
Staff Leadership
Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise the grounds maintenance team.
Foster a positive, accountable, and safe work environment.
Assign daily work schedules and monitor productivity.
Conduct employee training on equipment operation and safety procedures.
Lead by example with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Budget & Administration
Manage the annual maintenance budget.
Monitor labor, chemical, fertilizer, fuel, irrigation, and equipment expenses.
Maintain pesticide application records and required regulatory documentation.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Golf Course Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or similar leadership role.
Extensive knowledge of golf course turfgrass management and cultural practices.
Strong understanding of irrigation systems and water management.
Excellent mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair golf course maintenance equipment.
Experience operating and maintaining a wide variety of turf equipment.
Knowledge of fertilizers, pesticides, disease identification, and integrated pest management.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver's license required.
Minnesota pesticide applicator license required or the ability to acquire shortly after hiring.

Compensation
$70,000 – $75,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is eligible for a performance-based bonus structure that rewards exceptional course conditions, operational excellence, and overall success.
