Assists CGS in planning, coordinating, and executing the golf course maintenance program. The Assistant GCS may serve in the superintendent’s capacity during his/her absence.Essential Duties & Responsibilities Schedules, assigns and directs golf course maintenance staff to execute golf course management plan including daily tasks and special projects.Assists superintendent in developing and accomplishing goals and objectives necessary for the short‑term and long‑term success of the golf course.Assists irrigation technician in the operation of the irrigation system.Maintains up to date detailed daily schedules and work progress logbooks.Conducts weekly morning crew meetings and scheduled safety meetings.Works with the superintendent on the evaluation of personnel.Schedules, supervises, or executes fertilizer and chemical applications and records.Maintains proper MSDS sheets, chemical and fertilizer application logs as well as maintain proper ordering and stocking of needed pesticides and fertilizers.Acts as safety officer.Schedules equipment rotations for equipment manager’s preventative maintenance program.Works with the pro shop to secure proper daily operations of readiness of golf course for play.Mange and supervise the day-to-day operations of the water and sewer operations.Ability to supervise and schedule maintenance staff.Ability to train employees for normal golf course operations.Ability to maintain effective employee and public relations.Performs and conducts other appropriate tasks assigned by Golf Course Superintendent.May perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Education & ExperienceRequired: 2‑to‑4‑year turfgrass degree or related field.Required: Must possess pesticide applicator’s license or ability to obtain.Preferred: 2 years of supervisory experience or 5 years golf course maintenance experience.Preferred: Prior successful employment with the Stock Farm Club in this or a related position.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of agronomy and turf science.Knowledge of the rules of golf and preparation techniques for play.Knowledge of intermediate math skills for calculating data figures, important to golf course maintenance.Knowledge of golf course equipment operation.Knowledge of record keeping and basic computer skills.Ability to obtain information important to the golf course maintenance program.Ability to read and write.Ability to follow written and oral directions.Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities and to work independently.Ability to follow standard operating procedures and to work quickly and efficiently.Ability to maintain personal hygiene.Ability to be flexible and adaptable in highly fluid and dynamic environment.Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse audience.Ability to work with a team and interact with others in a professional and courteous manner.Ability to maintain the confidentiality of Stock Farm Club and member and guest information.Ability to maintain professionalism and image of the Stock Farm Club.Ability to lift to 70 pounds.Additional Requirements & DocumentationMust be able to pass employment background check and motor vehicle record checks.Must possess valid driver’s license in accordance with the laws of the State of Montana; must be insurable under the company’s auto insurance policy.Must be…
