Role Description The Golf Course Mechanic is a full-time, on-site role based at Excelsior Springs Golf Course in Excelsior Springs, MO. This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing golf course equipment, including mowers, utility vehicles, and small engines, to ensure safe and efficient operation. Day-to-day tasks include conducting routine inspections, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, maintaining parts inventories, keeping detailed maintenance records, and sometimes operate equipment on the course in preparation for daily play. The Golf Course Mechanic works closely with the superintendent and grounds team to prioritize equipment needs, and minimize downtime during peak golf operations. This position also helps ensure a safe work environment by following established safety procedures and keeping the maintenance area organized and compliant with relevant standards.
Qualifications
Strong communication and customer service skills to collaborate effectively with staff and support internal stakeholders.Knowledge of golf course operations and basic golf concepts to understand equipment use and on-course needs.Experience working with golf equipment, turf maintenance machinery, and small engine repair.Mechanical aptitude, including diagnostic skills, use of hand and power tools, and ability to read technical manuals.Ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions and perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.Organizational skills for maintaining service schedules, parts inventories, and accurate maintenance records.High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanics or equipment maintenance is preferred.Prior experience in golf course, landscaping, or similar equipment maintenance environments is beneficial.
