The Sea Pines Resort is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to support the maintenance and daily operations of our world-renowned golf facilities. This leadership position offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced agronomic professionals while contributing to the care and presentation of three championship golf courses: Harbour Town Golf Links, Heron Point by Pete Dye, and Atlantic Dunes by Davis Love III.
As an integral member of the Golf Course Maintenance team, the Assistant Superintendent will play a hands-on leadership role in delivering exceptional playing conditions, supervising team members, and supporting agronomic programs that uphold the resort's reputation for excellence.

Position Summary
The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent assists in planning, organizing, and directing all aspects of golf course maintenance operations. Working closely with the Superintendent, this position helps ensure exceptional turf quality, efficient irrigation management, successful project execution, and a safe, productive work environment for the maintenance team.

Essential Responsibilities
Assist in the daily planning, coordination, and supervision of golf course maintenance operations.Lead, motivate, and train maintenance staff while promoting a culture of teamwork, accountability, and safety.Oversee daily course setup, including cup placement, mowing operations, bunker maintenance, course detailing, and playing condition standards.Assist with turfgrass management programs, including fertilizer and pesticide applications, calibration, recordkeeping, and environmental compliance.Monitor and manage irrigation systems, including programming, troubleshooting, repairs, hand watering, and water management practices.Support aerification, topdressing, drainage improvements, course renovations, and capital improvement projects.Participate in budgeting, scheduling, labor planning, inventory management, and equipment utilization.Assist in preparing the golf courses for tournaments, member events, resort functions, and PGA TOUR-related activities, including the RBC Heritage.Ensure compliance with all company, state, and federal safety regulations and environmental standards.Maintain effective communication with the Superintendent, management team, and staff regarding course conditions and operational priorities.

Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of golf course maintenance experience preferred.Previous supervisory or crew leadership experience strongly preferred.Degree, certificate, or ongoing coursework in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field preferred.Knowledge of turfgrass cultural practices, irrigation systems, and golf course maintenance operations.Experience with fertilizer and pesticide applications is preferred.Ability to obtain or maintain any required pesticide applicator licenses.Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as operational needs require.
