ABOUT THE CLUB Edgewood Country Club is an 18-hole private member-owned club located in Pittsburgh, PA.  The club was established in 1898 and is one of the three oldest clubs in western Pennsylvania.  It is a founding member of the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association.  In 2023, we hosted the prestigious West Penn Open Championship.  The 18-hole course is a Donald Ross design located just east of Pittsburgh off I-376.  The club has 350+ golfing members (500+ total members) and supports over 23,000 rounds per year.  In addition to the 6600 yards championship golf course there is a practice range and short game area.  Golf activities include men, ladies and junior programs, and a caddie program.  Monday golf outings provide a solid revenue stream for the club.  Edgewood is considered one of Pittsburgh’s premier family country clubs and offers a first class clubhouse with fine and casual dining, grille, swimming, tennis and platform tennis facilities. The PGM Intern Position will begin early May and run through the middle of August for the 3 month and end of October for the 6 month.  Starting and ending dates are flexible based upon the qualified candidate’s schedule. ABOUT THE DIRECTOR OF GOLF This will be my 21st year at Edgewood as their Director of Golf.  I was an Assistant Professional at Baltusrol Golf Club in New Jersey for 4 years prior to coming here.  I also have worked at Plainfield Country Club in Edison NJ, The Loxahatchee Club in Jupiter FL, and Blue Ridge Country Club in Harrisburg PA. I grew up in the golf industry and you could say I am a “third generation” professional.  My father is a PGA Master Professional and Member of the Philadelphia PGA Hall of Fame, my uncle is a Class A PGA Master Professional, and my Grandfather was a member of the Golf Course Superintendent’s Association of America. I own the Edgewood Golf Shop and was named the 2013 and 20225 Tri-State PGA Merchandiser of the Year and nominated for the National PGA Merchandiser of the Year Award.  Both of my previous employers have each won the PGA National Merchandiser of the Year award. While I was at Baltusrol, the club hosted the 2005 PGA Championship. In 2023, I was named the Tri State PGA Golf Professional of the Year.  I was also the 2019 Tri State PGA Bill Strausbaugh Award winner for mentoring.  Throughout my tenure at Edgewood I have had numerous assistants go onto Head Golf Professional positions, Directors of Instruction positions, and become top sales reps at numerous well respected golf companies like Cobra/Puma, Summit Brands, and Vineyard Vines. I still have a tremendous amount of contacts at some of the most prestigious facilities in the country.  I am willing to help out any person on my staff get to a top-rated facility if that is his/her career goal after their internship here ends. .
