Overview
Etowah Valley Golf Club is seeking a motivated and dependable Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to assist in the daily maintenance and management of our 18-hole golf facility. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Director of Golf and Golf Course Superintendent to ensure exceptional playing conditions while maintaining the highest standards of turfgrass management, course presentation, and operational efficiency.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with the planning and execution of daily golf course maintenance operations.
Supervise and train grounds maintenance staff.
Monitor turf health and assist with agronomic programs including fertilization, irrigation, aerification, and pest management.
Assist with irrigation system maintenance and repair.
Operate and maintain golf course equipment as needed.
Ensure proper course setup, including tee markers, hole locations, and practice facilities.
Assist in managing chemical and fertilizer applications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Maintain accurate records related to maintenance practices, chemical applications, and equipment usage.
Promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all safety procedures.
Participate in weekend and holiday maintenance schedules as required.
Qualifications
Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field preferred.
Previous golf course maintenance experience required.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge of irrigation systems, turfgrass management practices, and golf course maintenance equipment.
Ability to obtain or possess a North Carolina Pesticide Applicator License.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.

Full-time position with weekend and holiday responsibilities as needed to maintain championship-level course conditions.
Pay: $42,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
