Golf Course Superintendent - Kirksville Country Club
Kirksville Country Club, located in northeast Missouri, is seeking a qualified Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the maintenance and agronomy operations of our 18‑hole facility. The Superintendent reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for all aspects of a successful golf course grounds operation.
Primary Responsibilities
Plan, supervise, and execute daily and seasonal maintenance programs to ensure consistent, high‑quality playing conditions.
Control turfgrass health including mowing, aeration, fertilization, irrigation, pest, disease and weed control.
Apply and document all chemical applications in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Manage irrigation scheduling, water usage, system operation, troubleshooting and repair to maintain healthy turf and an efficient irrigation system.
Perform routine equipment maintenance and repairs to ensure all equipment is safe and fully operational.
Prepare and manage operating and capital budgets for maintenance programs, equipment needs, and financial success.
Collaborate with vendors to purchase and manage equipment, supplies, and materials.
Maintain the grounds and landscaped areas surrounding the clubhouse and pool to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for members and guests.
Develop and implement long‑range plans for golf course and facility improvements, including infrastructure upgrades, agronomic enhancements, and capital project recommendations.
Hire, train, supervise, and motivate maintenance staff to uphold high standards of turf care, safety, and professionalism.
Communicate regularly with the General Manager, Board of Directors, and club members regarding course conditions, projects, and operational updates.
Experience & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and employee management skills.
Current pesticide application license or ability to obtain.
Knowledge of irrigation systems including repair, maintenance, improvement, and installation.
Computer skills to support financial reporting and operational management.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
