• *GENERAL SUMMARY**
The Golf Course Superintendent is an exempt position whose primary responsibility is the maintenance, operations and management of the golf course and golf course facilities and equipment. The Golf Course Superintendent oversees the golf course and golf course equipment maintenance staff. They will be required on a daily basis to exercise discretion and independent judgment in managing their department and that Associates are adequately developed.

• *PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS**
Employee Management
- Hires, trains, supervises, develops, and terminates the employment of those supervised in accordance with company policies and directives
- Performs timely performance evaluations on supervised Associates.
- Compiles comprehensive reports regarding performance of Associates.
- Responsible for implementation of all laws, regulations and policies regarding, employment practices, safety rules and all other company policies and procedures
- Process, review and submit payroll for those supervised directly
- Monitor uniform adherence of all staff
Golf Course Facilities Management
- Daily rounds to inspect golf course, facilities and golf equipment to ensure staff is maintaining clean, organized and safe facilities and equipment
- Manage the golf course facilities operations to ensure efficiency and exceptional member, guest and Associate service. The facilities include, but are not limited to:
- The golf course
- Maintenance equipment
- Golf vehicle fleet
- Clubhouse grounds and landscaping
- Sod farm and nursery
- Open spaces, unused acreage and areas outside the perimeter of the golf course
- Other properties or areas as specified by the superintendent’s manager
- Assist the Superintendent in the management of supply inventory through monthly audits and loss control measures, and ensuring that all supplies are adequately stocked
- Oversee day-to-day golf course operations run safely, smoothly and efficiently through a visible management presence and leadership.
Financial Accountability
- Manage financial performance of golf course facilities and maintenance department through proper planning and forecasting
- Prepare, implement and maintain action plans to meet or reduce monthly department budget and expense goals
- Assist club management in development of annual operating and capital budgets for golf course maintenance
Communication & Relationships
- Effectively and professionally interacts and communicates with senior management, managers, other Associates, vendors, members, and guests.
- Promote harmonious relations among members, staff, vendors, and the community at-large.
- Communicate timely and follow up, as appropriate.
- Active participation in required events, required programs, required meetings and required trainings.
- Ensure the TBCC mission and club brand is upheld in all aspects of club operations
- Represent the club in a professional manner through image, dress, communication, and immediate follow through and response

- Interpret and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

- **Policies and Regulations** — Knowledge of company polices, federal, state and local laws, government regulations and agency rules that pertain to property managed.

- **Management of Financial Resources** — Basic knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices for creating a realistic budget, banking, understanding financial reports and the ability to use mathematics to solve problems.

• *EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION**
- Minimum of 5 years prior management experience including budgeting, planning, developing and implementing operational systems in the field of golf course maintenance
- At least 3 years’ experience in personnel supervision, training, and evaluation
- Advanced knowledge of agronomy and turf grass management practices
- Knowledge of golf facility construction principles, practices and methods
- Thorough understanding of the game of golf
- May require current state certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator
- Valid driver’s license
- Demonstrated experience in problem identification, analysis, recommendation of options and development of logical and workable solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing and completing administrative statistical and programmatic studies with comprehensive analysis and sound recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to support and develop diverse environment.

- This position deals with outside personnel such as members, guests and vendors on a regular basis with contact in various forms such as in person, phone and email.

$100,000.00 - $120,000.00 / year
