About the Role
Overview
The Forest Country Club is looking for a Head Golf Professional to join our successful team already in place. Our Club is growing, and we need successful people to help take us to the next level. Our previous Head Golf Professional has successfully moved onto his own position, and our candidates will need a background in the \"Private Club Experience\" and must be proficient with Golf Genius and POS management systems like Club Essentials. Member interaction is a priority here at The Forest. We have a wonderful group of members, and they are excited to embrace new additions to the staff. The Head Golf Professional, under the guidance of the Director of Golf will be responsible for specific Club programs, member group play throughout the year and will help guide our entire Golf Staff at The Forest Country Club through another successful season. The Head Golf Professional will also be responsible for the Club's day-to-day operations, including management of events, and staffing.
Experience Required
Candidates considered must be a Member of the PGA of America and have a strong background in leadership, event management and helping to maintain a positive team atmosphere.
Essential Responsibilities
Specific Responsibilities - include but are not limited to:
Represent The Forest in the highest professional manner
Complete the requirements of PGA membership and maintain an active classification
Provide excellent customer services, professional advice, and assistance to all patrons
Be informed on, and promote all club activities and services
Manage all aspects of our men's events, tournaments and outings
Maintain an overall calendar of golf events
Build, revise and publish the golf operations yearly events booklet
Supervise all group play and manage the building and functionality of our tee sheets
Be available to attend meetings related to golf operations and other facets of our Club's operations
Proven history of staff development based upon hiring, training, coaching and mentoring
Play golf with members and develop lessons and clinics specific to our Club's needs
Effective communicator, both verbal and written in addition to being a great listener
Must possess an elevated level of professionalism and integrity
Should demonstrate a high level of energy, passion and commitment to individual, group and team success
Enforce the policies and rules of the Club in a professional manner
Create a culture of warm, personalized hospitality throughout the team while they perform tasks in an accurate, efficient and timely manner
Report any problems or possible situations that arise with members, guests, employees, or equipment to the Director of Golf as soon as necessary to provide Director of Golf with information needed to rectify the situation
Continue to update the Policies & Procedures Manual of the Golf Operation
Help implement and execute fitting days with our various vendors
Participation in Club marketing videos
Provide golf instruction to members and guests
Help organize and complete club repair
Assist with all Golf Shop operations
Knowledge, Skills and Traits
Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, Rules of Golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations
Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees
Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills
Service and customer focused attitude
Experienced in written and oral business communications
Experienced in software applications: Golf Genius, Club Essentials and Excel
Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the Chapter and Section
Attend conferences, workshops, meetings, and trade shows to keep abreast of marketing and business trends
Play in Chapter and Section PGA events and remain current on teaching innovations
