Cedar Creek Club is a private, member-owned club located on a beautiful 50-acre lakeside property in Cashiers, North Carolina. Surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Club offers dining, racquet sports, aquatics, fitness, and a full calendar of social events in a welcoming, family-oriented setting.
The Club operates May 1 through October 31, supported by a small, year-round leadership team and approximately 70 seasonal employees. This position is part of the year-round team and plays an important role in planning, preparing for, and supporting Club operations throughout the year.
Facilities & Grounds Manager - Full-Time, Year-Round
Reports To: General Manager / Chief Operating Officer
Position Summary
The Facilities & Grounds Manager is responsible for the year-round care, maintenance, appearance, safety, and operational readiness of Cedar Creek Club's buildings, grounds, recreational facilities, lakefront amenities, and infrastructure. This position oversees preventive maintenance programs, capital maintenance projects, vendor relationships, regulatory compliance, and a seasonal maintenance team dedicated to delivering an exceptional member experience.
The Facilities & Grounds Manager plays a key leadership role in protecting the Club's assets while ensuring that all facilities are maintained to the highest standards expected of a premier private club.
Primary Responsibilities
Facilities Management
Oversee all clubhouse maintenance and repair activities. Keep the maintenance building organized and immaculate, with all inventory updated on a schedule listing all assets Maintain all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules. Coordinate repairs before they become operational issues. Maintain maintenance logs and equipment records. Ensure all Club facilities remain safe, attractive and operational year-round. Maintain the fleet of utility club carts and Club Van to be in top shape. Winterize all areas during off season. Grounds & Exterior Maintenance
Oversee maintenance of:
Clubhouse grounds Parking areas Walking paths Landscaping Irrigation systems Outdoor lighting Lakefront areas Docks Signage Outdoor furniture Trash collection areas Snow and ice management when necessary Recreational Facilities
Responsible for the maintenance and presentation of:
Tennis courts Pickleball courts Croquet lawns Fitness Center and Restroom areas Swimming pool Pool equipment Pool furniture Lake Lupton recreation areas Paddle boat docks Fishing areas Children's recreation spaces Coordinate specialized contractors whenever resurfacing or technical repairs are required Housekeeping Oversight
Manage seasonal housekeeping staff responsible for:
Daily clubhouse cleanliness Restrooms Locker rooms Fitness Center Common areas Event setup support Deep cleaning during offseason Window cleaning Pressure washing Seasonal opening and closing preparation Seasonal Operations
Coordinate all facility preparations for:
Spring Opening Summer Operations Fall Closing Winter Maintenance Develop annual opening and closing checklists.
Capital Projects
Partner with the General Manager on:
Long Range Planning projects Renovations Capital improvements Building inspections Reserve projects Contractor management Project scheduling Quality control Safety & Risk Management
Maintain compliance with:
OSHA requirements Fire safety systems Emergency lighting Pool safety Playground inspections Dock safety ADA compliance Insurance inspection recommendations Maintain all required inspection documentation. Vendor Management
Oversee outside contractors including:
HVAC Plumbing Electrical Roofing Fire suppression systems Security systems Pest control Landscaping specialists Pool service Lake Management Irrigation & Court maintenance specialists Solicit bids and recommend vendors when appropriate. Budget Responsibilities
Prepare and manage the annual Facilities & Grounds budget including:
Repairs & Maintenance Maintenance supplies Capital replacement recommendations Equipment purchases Contracted services Seasonal labor Monitor expenses and seek cost efficiencies without compromising quality. Leadership Responsibilities
Recruit seasonal maintenance staff. Train employees on safety and maintenance procedures. Establish daily work schedules. Conduct performance evaluations. Foster teamwork and accountability. Promote a culture of professionalism and pride in the Club's appearance.

Seasonal Maintenance Technician (2) Seasonal Housekeeper (1–2) Seasonal Grounds (outsourced landscaping) Pool & Recreation Maintenance Outside Contractors & Specialized Vendors Depending on staffing levels, seasonal employees may rotate between housekeeping, facility maintenance, racquet courts, pool operations, grounds, and event setup to meet operational needs.
Desired Qualifications
5+ years of facilities or property management experience. Experience in hospitality, private clubs, resorts, or luxury residential communities preferred. Strong knowledge of building systems and preventive maintenance. Experience supervising seasonal employees. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Working knowledge of budgeting and vendor management. Valid driver's license.
