Position Concept: The 2nd Assistant Golf Professional assists all Golf Professionals in the management of day-to-day golf operations of the facility. The position is responsible for supervising and managing the day-to-day golf operations to a premier club experience. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of customer service and total satisfaction of all customers.

Specific Responsibilities- include but are not limited to:
Supervise and direct other golf operations staff in day-to-day operations. Including, Outside Services, Golf Shop Attendants, and Starters and Marshals.Ensure the highest level of services for our members.Assist the other Golf Professional with operational needs.Assist with golfer check-in and fee collection; control and manage playAssist with all opening and closing proceduresAssist in managing facility tournament operations including weekly eventsAssist in tournament operations and weekly events including planning, pre-tournament contracts, post- tournament billing, promotion, course set-up, preparation, scoring, prize distribution, and follow upWork with the Player Development Team to execute clinics, lessons, and camps.Assist with men’s, women’s, and junior golf events and programsAssist in Player Development programs using PGA tools and resourcesDirect management of outside service staff to ensure the highest quality of customer service is achievedAssist in managing golf car operation, practice facility, and club storage service (as applicable)Ensure proper billing and charges for all members and eventsConduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all timesAssist with the administration of applicable staff via recordkeeping, work schedules, etc. in accordance with facility human resource policiesAssist in coordinating golf activities with other departmentsKnowledge, Skills and Traits
Maintain PGA of America membership in good standing in an active classificationActively pursue PGA membership (if a PGA Apprentice) in a timely manner through the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGA PGM) programFundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operationsFundamental supervisory practices and principlesBe a leader and mentor for other staffAct as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employeesStrong organizational, planning and prioritization skillsSelf-motivated with desire to promote and marketService and customer focused attitudeExperienced in written and oral business communicationsRemain up to date on customer relationship management tactics and strategiesUtilize the resources of PGA player development programs such as Get Golf Ready, PGA Sports Academy, Tee it Forward and othersExperienced computer user including; Microsoft Word and Excel.
