About the Role
The Golf Course Maintenance team plays a crucial role in the upkeep and presentation of the golf course at Coldstream Country Club. This position is responsible for maintaining the overall health, playability, and aesthetic appeal of the golf course by performing routine landscaping, mowing, irrigation, and maintenance tasks. The Golf Course Maintenance team works under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent to ensure the highest standards of course conditions for members and guests.
Specific Responsibilities - Included but Not Limited To:
• Perform daily maintenance of the golf course, including mowing greens, fairways, and roughs.
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
• Assist with bunker maintenance, including raking, edging, and sand replenishment.
• Maintain and repair irrigation systems, including sprinklers, pumps, and drainage areas.
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other turf management products under supervision.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of maintenance facilities and equipment.
• Monitor turf conditions and report any issues related to disease, pests, or irrigation needs.
• Assist with tree trimming, sod replacement, and landscaping projects as needed.
• Follow all safety protocols and proper handling procedures for chemicals and equipment.
• Set up the golf course for daily play, including cup cutting, tee placement, and hazard maintenance.
• Support seasonal projects, including aeration, overseeding, and weather-related course repairs.
• Work collaboratively with the grounds team to ensure high-quality course conditions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
Business and Financial (If Necessary):
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels of fertilizers, pesticides, and maintenance supplies.
• Properly care for and extend the life of club equipment through regular maintenance.
• Ensure cost-effective use of water, fuel, and other resources to optimize budget efficiency.
Knowledge, Skills, and Traits:
• Basic knowledge of golf course maintenance procedures and landscaping techniques.
• Ability to safely operate and maintain golf course maintenance equipment.
• Understanding turf management, irrigation systems, and plant care is a plus.
• Strong work ethic and ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and commitment to providing high-quality course conditions.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing weather conditions and maintenance priorities.
Experience / Qualifications – Including but Not Limited To:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Previous experience in golf course maintenance, landscaping, or groundskeeping is required.
• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Valid driver’s license preferred for operating maintenance vehicles.
• Pesticide Applicator’s certificate.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
• Full-time or seasonal position with early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
• Operation of heavy machinery, including mowers, tractors, and utility vehicles.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
