Overview
The Golf Club at StoneBridge offers the citizens of Shreveport and Bossier City an elegant and exclusive club environment where anyone can play.
Located in the StoneBridge development in North Bossier City, the golf club features a challenging and beautifully maintained 18-hole Fred Couples / Gene Bates designed golf course. In addition, our clubhouse offers restaurant dining, beautifully appointed men's and ladies locker rooms with lounges, a bar, and a full-service golf shop.
Position Description:
The purpose of this class is to oversee, manage, and administer the overall operation of the Golf Department.
This class works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive-level administrators through conferences and reports.
This position is classified as Exempt for the purposes of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Duties and Responsibilities
The functions listed below represent the majority of the time spent working in this class.
Essential Functions:
• Oversees golf shop operations and daily activity of tee times, customer needs and concerns, and weather-related issues at The Golf Club at Stonebridge ; oversees operation of Veterans Administration Golf Course and Bloomfield Links including staffing, maintenance, upkeep, customer relations, and turf care management practices.
• Prepares and implements the annual budget; reviews and approves all billing, invoices, and time cards for The Golf Club at Stonebridge; handles bank deposits.
• Reviews, analyzes, and implements specific data and practices related to the golf industry that directly or indirectly impact the City's golf facilities.
• Communicates with various City departments and department heads concerning City golf business.
• Prepares job descriptions, advertises job openings, interviews applicants, and recommends hiring and disciplinary actions for Golf personnel.
• Develops and implements junior, regular, and senior programming to ensure growth in the game and facility usage.
• Corresponds, speaks, and represents the City at various golf-related organizations, civic clubs, and businesses concerning golf and its impact on the community and the economy.
• Conducts staff meetings to ensure quality control and consistent information and communication to patrons, the public, and employees.
• Manages implementation of outings, events, and leagues.
• Oversees purchases for resale, conducts and controls inventory purchases, and movement of merchandise.
• Negotiates contracts, oversees daily activity, and coordinates programming with Teaching Professional.
• Meets with sales representatives to discuss new products in their golf lines and develops a knowledge base to increase revenues from shop sales.
• Oversees the operations of the Food and Beverage Manager at The Golf Club at Stonebridge
• Conducts ongoing training and coordinates implementation of good customer service practices; enforces city policy and safety practices for staff.

TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• Prefers a Bachelor's Degree in Business or a closely related field.
• Requires four years of management experience of a public golf course.
• OR An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience.
• PGA membership preferred.
