Overview
As a member of the Golf Management Team, the Assistant Golf Professional assists the Head Golf Professional in all aspects of the golf operation: tee time management, course play, tournaments, lessons, ongoing training and staff management. Maintaining high levels of customer service and enthusiasm is a vital part of this position.
Experience Required
- Have passed the P.A.T. or is currently working towards passing
- Actively pursuing PGA membership (if a PGA Apprentice) in a timely manner
- Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, facilities and tournament operations.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assists Head Professional with training and supervising of staff.
- Assist with daily operations including both member and course management
- Effectively manages time and completes tasks from start to finish.
- Ability to give personal lessons and conduct group clinics.
- Assists customers by providing and interpreting golf policies, rules and regulations.
- Operates golf shop and assumes duties in absence of Head Golf Professional.
- Manages the daily opening and closing of all golf operations as needed.
- Performs starter or marshal duties as needed.
- Manages GHIN handicap system for customers.
- Ensures course is properly marked at all times.
- Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees.
- Assist in managing golf cart fleet, practice facility, and club storage
- Play golf with a variety of Members of all skill levels.
- Assist with staff work schedules in accordance with the current budget.
- Knowledge of upcoming events including tournaments, outings and events.
- Assist in coordinating golf activities with other departments within Hunting Hills CC.
