About The Colony Golf & Country Club
Founded on the principles of luxury, community, and exceptional member experiences, The Colony Golf & Country Club has become one of Southwest Florida's most respected private clubs.
The Club traces its roots to 1999, when Westinghouse Communities introduced a new vision for active lifestyle living with the creation of The Colony at Pelican Landing. Just two years later, forty founding members celebrated the opening of the Clubhouse and championship golf course, establishing a culture centered on friendship, respect and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Today, The Colony is proudly member-owned and governed, maintaining a low-density membership that provides an exceptional private club experience where accessibility, camaraderie and personalized service remain hallmarks of the Club. Members value the welcoming atmosphere, strong sense of community and active lifestyle that have become synonymous with The Colony.
The Club's mission is simple: to provide an exceptional club experience where the enjoyment of its members is always the highest priority. Guided by its core values of Respect, Friendship and Courtesy, The Colony continues to foster an environment where members, guests and staff enjoy meaningful relationships and a genuine sense of belonging.
The Colony has never been content to stand still. In 2017, the golf course underwent a comprehensive renovation featuring Platinum Paspalum playing surfaces from tee to green, followed by a complete contemporary renovation of the Clubhouse in 2018.
That commitment to continuous improvement continues today.
The Club is currently completing an exciting $16M Clubhouse renovation, with phase one opening in November 2026 and phase two in the fall of 2027, representing one of the most significant investments in the Club's history. Additional phases of the Club's long-term Master Plan are anticipated in the coming years, including the continued evolution of the Sports Centre and wellness amenities. This creates a unique opportunity for the next Director of Tennis & Wellness to play a meaningful leadership role in helping shape the future vision of one of Southwest Florida's premier private clubs.
THE SPORTS CENTRE – TODAY AND TOMORROW
The Sports Centre at The Colony is one of the Club's most active and vibrant gathering places, serving as the hub for tennis, fitness, wellness and member engagement. Today, the department features six sub-irrigated Har-Tru tennis courts, a well-utilized fitness center, wellness programming, active interclub league participation, instructional programs and a full calendar of social and competitive events that appeal to members of all ages and abilities.
While the current operation enjoys strong participation and an outstanding reputation, The Colony is entering one of the most exciting periods in its history. The Club is currently completing a $16M Clubhouse renovation, scheduled to reopen in November 2026, representing the first phase of a broader long-term vision for continued investment in the member experience.
As future phases of the Master Plan are developed, the Sports Centre has emerged as one of the Club's highest strategic priorities. Concepts currently under consideration include expanded tennis facilities, dedicated pickleball courts, potential indoor racquet facilities, a new Sports Pavilion, enhanced fitness and wellness spaces, modern locker rooms, spa and recovery amenities, food and beverage offerings, member gathering areas and improved spectator spaces.
The next Director of Tennis & Wellness will play an important leadership role in this evolution, working alongside the General Manager, Board of Governors and Committees to help shape the operational vision for the future Sports Centre. For the successful candidate, this represents a rare opportunity to not only lead an exceptional operation today but also help create one of Southwest Florida's premier tennis, fitness and wellness destinations for years to come.
