Lakeland Golf Club is seeking an experienced Golf Course Superintendent to lead all agronomic and maintenance operations as we continue restoring our historic George Cobb–designed course to top playing conditions. This role offers full authority over course conditioning, staff leadership, and long?term improvement planning.
Position Overview
The Superintendent oversees all golf course maintenance functions, directs the maintenance team, manages agronomic programs, and ensures the course meets high standards of playability and presentation every day.
- 3–7+ years of progressive golf course maintenance experience with supervisory responsibility
- Degree in Turfgrass, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- State pesticide applicator license (or ability to obtain)
- Strong agronomic knowledge and experience with chemical/fertility programs
- Advanced irrigation troubleshooting and moisture?management skills
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and seasonal demands
- Passion for turf quality and continuous improvement
Preferred Skills
- GCSAA membership
- Experience with renovation or course recovery projects
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort with turf technology (moisture meters, GPS sprayers, etc.)
