Position Summary
Kings Ridge Golf Club is seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the maintenance and daily presentation of the golf course grounds. The Superintendent will be responsible for planning, directing, and participating in all aspects of golf course maintenance while ensuring exceptional playing conditions for members and guests. This position reports directly to the Director of Golf and works closely with ownership to continually enhance the quality and long-term success of both golf courses on property. Kings Ridge Golf Club is a 36 hole operation within a gated community. Par 71 Championship Style Course and Par 57 Executive Course are all located within the community. This is a challenging position as the executive course needs major renovations and a creative mind to bring this course back to its glory days while staying within the constraints of an operating budget.
Key ResponsibilitiesGolf Course & Turf Management
Plan, supervise, and participate in the maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, practice facilities, and surrounding grounds.
Develop and implement agronomic programs, including fertilization, pest management, aeration, mowing, irrigation, and overseeding.
Monitor turf health and course conditions, utilizing strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address issues proactively.
Ensure the golf course is prepared daily to provide outstanding playing conditions with member and guest satisfaction as the highest priority.
Leadership & Staff Management
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate the grounds maintenance staff.
Develop work schedules and assign daily responsibilities.
Foster a positive, safe, and productive team environment while promoting accountability and professional development.
Irrigation & Equipment
Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of the irrigation system to maximize water efficiency and turf health.
Coordinate with the equipment mechanic to ensure all golf course equipment is properly maintained, serviced, and operated safely.
Budgeting & Administration
Work with the Director of Golf to develop and manage the annual grounds maintenance operating budget.
Monitor expenses, control costs, and maintain accurate maintenance records.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to pesticide use, environmental stewardship, and workplace safety.
Collaboration
Maintain open communication with the Director of Golf and ownership regarding course conditions, maintenance priorities, and capital improvement projects.
Develop and maintain productive relationships with vendors and suppliers to support efficient golf course operations.
QualificationsExperience
Minimum of three (3) years of golf course maintenance experience.
Previous supervisory or management experience is preferred.
Strong knowledge of golf course maintenance practices, turfgrass management, irrigation systems, and equipment operation.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations affecting golf course maintenance and operations.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's degree in Turfgrass Management or a related field preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Turfgrass Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
Certifications
Florida Spray Technician Certification or the ability to obtain certification.
Valid driver's license required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Florida Pesticide Applicator License.
GCSAA membership is preferred but not required.

Working Conditions
This position requires flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed to meet seasonal demands and weather conditions.
Kings Ridge Golf Club is located in Central Florida. The Superintendent must be prepared to work in challenging environmental conditions, including extreme heat, humidity, and heavy rainfall.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and operating maintenance equipment for extended periods.
